Blood glucose concentrations may be

measured in whole blood or in plasma.

Although you always apply whole blood

to your test strip, your meter will show

results that are equivalent either to

whole blood or to plasma concentra-

tions. If you want to know whether

your meter displays your blood glucose

results in terms of concentrations in

whole blood or in plasma, please refer

to the package insert for your test

strips. It also contains information on

how the system works, on the test prin

ciple and on reference methods.
